I’ve watched some shows where people can track & find another’s cell phone. Mainly it was a parent to keep track of their kid. How do you do that? Do you need to install an app? Is there a fee? Have you done it? If so, what was the purpose if you don’t mind the question. Will tag members: demonskeith Galra Keith Senkusha Steve Uncrowned

We have an app installed that allows us not only to locate the phone, but make it emit a tremendously loud awful noise and take a screenshot. We did have to pay for it.

Thank you for your reply Do you think it's something all people should have? I'm thinking of people who has lost or even had their phone stolen. Does it need to be ON in order for it work?

There are apps or trackers you can buy to place on the phone. My phone hardly leaves my side, so I wouldn't need such a tracker, unless it got stolen...

Every modern day cell phone has GPS capability, and therefore can easily be tracked... by The Ones Whom Have Power (government officials). For you and I, we need to install a special app on the phone and another app on a computer or another device that looks for the "pinging" of any tracking apps. Of course, if somebody where to put the phone in Airplane mode, the tracking capability would be shut off, since this mode deactivates ALL transmitting and receiving equipment on the phone, turning it into a rather large calculator, LOL.

For those that have a habit of losing their phones, I'd say yes, it's a necessity. It's always on in the background, otherwise how would you access it if you lost your phone?

I can see how tracking would be needed by the Government but that power is abused a bit too often. Do you think Airplane Mode would prevent the Government from tracking? For those that have a habit of losing their phones, I'd say yes, it's a necessity. It's always on in the background, otherwise how would you access it if you lost your phone? Makes sense

Yes. Using Airplane mode turns off all transmitters in the phone, it's like taking the battery out of the phone, but you can still use the computational power of your phone in this mode, to do things like take notes, work with local data apps or play games that don't use the internet for data retrieval.

Okay, that makes sense. It's similar to when our internet is out but I can still get on the computer to do Word & play some games that are downloaded. Thank you for that explanation
