Both have their pros & cons. If you are solo, you have more control over what's being written, how it's recorded, where you play. However, if you are in a group, you would have more ideas on songs & people to bounce ideas off of. I would choose being in a group. It's lonely at the top anyways so you may as well be lonely with other band members!

I can carry a tune, both ways, but would prefer singing with another person or in a group, that way blending harmony into the tune.
For instance, 'The Everly Brothers' were awesome together, with their magical harmony....which wouldn't be the same solo. Wynona & Naomi Judd, much better together, and lots more examples (However, Elvis....he was in a class by himself!
