Been seeing more commercials for this & there’s probably other brands that have something similar. Why can’t we just accept our flaws? We are told to embrace, yet PhotoShop, Eraser contradict. So what if we have fine lines. So what if there’s red eyes. So what if there’s a stranger in the background. It’s Real & not Fake. Real Life is flawed. Do you use Eraser or others that “erase”? While I have gotten rid of red eye in the Windows program a long time ago, it was just to play around, not to do it for every picture lol

I think it's kind of neat, nothing wrong in removing people who shouldn't be in pictures. But I wouldn't bother with it, I know I get too caught up in all the edits.

What's the point of taking a photograph if you're going to manipulate it to the point it's no longer 'real'?

I think some people do get caught up in that perfectionism. & then it can hurt the mental health as what they see in real life is NOT what is in the pictures. What's the point of taking a photograph if you're going to manipulate it to the point it's no longer 'real'? My point exactly! I don't recall ever using Eraser. (and, I have a lot of bad pics to prove it!:-) LOL So do I

I've used a photo editor to do the red-eyes too. Not to make the picture look perfect.

Certain things like red eyes make sense to me as they aren't exactly a personal flaw, they are really a camera issue.
I'm not against using Photoshop and such to improve a picture. At least to a point. Using tech to remove a pimple is not really any different than using makeup and such. The same goes for scars and flaws as a skilled photographer can hide a lot via angles and lighting, so using Photoshop to achieve the same goal isn't really better or worse.
I am one that is all for embracing flaws and being yourself, but I can also see the merit in hiding imperfections that are very temporary (like ache and the like) as they don't really add any long term value to the photo. Although I can absolutely see how people would also rather keep imperfect images and memories as well.

I find pictures are literally worth a thousand words in that they detail what we went through, who we were.
But I do agree on simple things like red-eye & acne.
