What do you think of potlucks? Do you participate in them? Per Wiki: “A potluck is a communal gathering where each guest or group contributes a different, often homemade, dish of food to be shared. Other names for a "potluck" include: potluck dinner, pitch-in, shared lunch, spread, faith supper, carry-in dinner, covered-dish-supper, fuddle, Jacob's Join, bring a plate, and fellowship meal.” Do you call it something else? I’ve heard “Bring a plate” but it was still promoted as a Potluck. We had them growing up for family reunions. Also helpful for holiday parties to help take the load off the host & hostess. I liked them as I tend to eat differently than others, more organic, so if I bring my own, I would know I had something I could eat there!

I like them you get a good variety of food and if you really like something you can ask for the recipe.

I don't care for potlucks. You never know what other people's cooking habits are.

We have them at work from time to time, I don't do much for them, usually bring a drink or chips. Something simple that goes beyond the potluck to still be enjoyed.

LOL...I've done this myself, demonskeith! Usually it's something small that others forget...like the chips, a relish tray or rolls...even serving spoons. Never have enough serving spoons!
