How often do you replace or upgrade your computer, etc? We don’t care to upgrade just to upgrade & because Big Tech says so. We go as long as we can.

When I moved to Boston, I bought a second-hand computer because I felt more comfortable working with a full sized keyboard and bigger sized screen (than my mobile phone). I quickly discovered that to pursue my hobby [and eventual income source] of game development, I'd need to purchase a top-of-the-line gaming desktop. I'm quite happy with it, and foresee many more YEARS of working with it.,
My mobile phone is from 2020, and is still going strong with no plans to replace it. In fact, I still have my old computer, that I may be giving to Tanya since she's getting into digital photography and photo manipulation, and it'll be plenty for what she needs to do.

I replace mine when the current one refuses to operate correctly, no matter what I do (reinstall the OS, etc.).

I replace mine when the current one refuses to operate correctly, no matter what I do (reinstall the OS, etc.). It could be the hard drive may be going bad. $150 to replace that versus $1,000 for a new computer is a huge difference.

I guess when Windows 11 is being forced on us that I'll have to upgrade I'm not happy about it because I like how everything is set up.

I try to hold out as long as I can, most stuff costs way too much so I try and get my money's worth.

I should have included that in my 'etc.' I have extra drives that have nothing wrong with them so that's on of the things I check.

Now I'm remembering and I thought that was nice.

My desktop is 8 years old...and I agree with Steve. When it stops working properly, I'll have to REALLY think about replacing it

Thank you! Unfortunately, that doesn't do what I want. The Taskbar is still at the bottom of the screen. Oh well!

I don't have Windows 11 so I couldn't test it.
