Our old computer would run hot but that was because of the CPU. We got it replaced & it ran better. We used to keep a fan blowing on it as it made a loud, very loud, revving noise. What do you do if you had a device running hot? Did you know how to fix it?

Blowing a fan ON to a computer is a mistake. It's constantly blowing dust into the tower, making the computer actually run hotter at the motherboard/graphics card level.
It's much better to make sure the internal fan that blows the air OUT.
And yes, I know how to fix it.

You may want to take a vacuum cleaner around your computer (not in your computer) and suck up all the dust bunnies that you blow out (using a can of compressed air). That dust easily gets stuck in fans and vents and needs to be blown out (I usually blow mine out once a month). Then take the vacuum hose and suck all the dust bunnies away. It's also a good idea to use that canned air to blow out your keyboard. I was disgusted by all the .... we'll say dust that came out from under all my keys ... and HAIR. You'd think, me having long hair, it wouldn't get in there, but somehow, my hair finds its way under my keys!!
But do be cautious when using canned air. That can gets COLD!! Only use it in short bursts.
Also, depending on how old the computer is, it may need new thermal paste (applied the CPU and the CPU fan).
Finally, where is the computer stored? It needs to have good airflow! Not shoved in a corner or in the cubbyhole in a desk.

Now we know to do things differently if it happens next time. This was our last computer that finally died. We make sure to have good airflow for appliances & electronics.

I had a PC once that got hot, the fan on it failed and I had a cell phone that also got hot, it was pretty much signs that things were getting old and time to be replaced.

At least you could see if there's any dust building up and can break out the canned air.

We did that & still do to this day to keep dust from building up.
Thank you

The devices were too old, I just got new ones because I know other stuff would break soon.
