www.familyhandyman.com/article/why-you-should-be-pruning-your-trees-and-shrubs-right-now"For most deciduous trees and shrubs, winter is the best time for pruning. Plants are dormant and bare, so it’s easier to see the branching structure and get a sense of what needs to be removed. It’s also better for the plant because winter pruning promotes quick regrowth in spring and limits the exposure of the wound to insects and disease...." My notes: While this may be the best time, honestly, it's COLD! outside. Not just cold. Freezing temps. I love nature & my flowers & plants but there's a time (summertime vs wintertime). But what about you? Do you prune in the winter? Maybe you get to it in the fall months before it turns frigid. I was told once the snow hits, you should leave the plants alone and not mess with them till the spring. But I guess it depends on the plant I suppose?

If we don't get to it in winter, we try to prune some of them in early fall.
The rest wait til Spring

I prune when they get too overgrown. Usually in the Fall.

demonskeith, lainee, Bob, I think some may do better than others. What we have done, prune in the fall or spring, the plants have thrived.

I usually do spring. Interesting article. A little too cold for me right now though. I'm with you on the cold part! Easier to do when it's warmer.
