Jan. 28th, 1986
The Space Shuttle Challenger exploded 73 seconds after liftoff from Cape Canaveral, killing all seven crew members, including schoolteacher Christa McAuliffe.
May they all be resting in peace.

Steve, lainee, Oh my gosh! I totally forgot about that! That was a terrible point in history. I remembered they aired an episode of Punky Brewster with this. I was slowly getting into astronomy & loved how they did that episode. Made an impact to a kid like me.
I had read that most if not all of the crew did NOT die in the initial explosion. I just hope that they passed out due to the sheer horror & loss of pressure before they actually hit the ocean.
