When we are watching a movie & a song plays, do you ever stop & think which came first? Did the singer already have the song created & then they found a way to fit it in? Or did they have an idea for a movie, a scene, & asked certain singers to come up with something? I think for TV shows, songs are already created. However for movies, I believe they have the idea first THEN go to a band for the song.

I think they make the movie first. Or have it in their mind. Or make the movie and Oh, what song would work good with this that is already out there.

I've honestly never thought about it... but I would assume that the idea for the film comes first, and then they make a song to fit into it!

Depends on the show, some are created around the music and others the music is based on the scene they see.

I think it depends on the show/movie, this makes me think of the Sound of Music. Surely the music was created first, but in other cases the show or movie was probably made first then the score was written for it.
