Blue Ridge Parkway. The route goes between the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia to Great Smoky Mountains National Park on the North Carolina/ Tennessee border. It stretches 470 miles.
My notes: Who has traveled this route? What did you think of it? Was it quite scenic? Figure it'd take roughly 8 hours. Long drive but may be worth it. I have never been on it before.

I haven't done this one but I have driven the PCH from San Diego to San Bernadino. It takes around 10 hours.

Pacific Coast Highway per Steve For more info: PCH. My notes: Besides Steve, who has traveled this route? Was there anything memorable along the way? You can also travel from Seattle to San Francisco to Los Angeles to San Diego. It looks like it'd be nice scenery!

Garage doors, Automotic. They can be activated at times by different signals if the frequencies are similar. An example is during the Reagan Administration, the secret service walkie-talkies prompted garage doors in the area of the President’s California home to open & shut!
My notes: I’d think with modern technology, we’d have this bug fixed. But then you have hackers! Has this ever happened to you? Then or now?

ZandraJoi - regarding the PCH, scenery is its number one attraction. Plus you have interesting little towns along the way to visit. As for garage door openers, it's never happened to me but it's easy enough to go on the web and find a hack that will allow you to open any garage door.

I always loved taking road trips & going through those small towns. It's nice to support small businesses.
How say in our technology age, that hackers still find ways!

The Byzantine Empire. “The Byzantine Empire, also referred to as the Eastern Roman Empire, was the continuation of the Roman Empire centered in Constantinople during Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages.”
My notes: The famous church using this style is the Istanbul’s Hagia Sophia which was completed in A.D. 537 but converted to a mosque in 1453. Have any of you been there? Looks like from the pictures they have kept it up nicely.

The Milford Track."Once described as the finest walk in the world, the Milford Track is one of New Zealand’s most popular walks, with approximately 14000 people completing the Milford Track each year. This website aims to be a comprehensive information resource on the Milford Track, letting you have all the information you need in one place. We cover the walk itself, the history of the track, and where it’s located, and you’ll also find some photos from people who’ve done the walk. We hope this site answers all the questions you might have...." My notes: Established in 1888. 33 mile hiking trail in New Zealand’s Fiordland National Park. They limit the number of hikers to preserve the wildnerness. At the completion, hikers are given a Certificate of Achievement. This would be quite fun to walk not to mention the history! Who has been here & what did you think?

Pneumatic tire. Robert Williams Thomson invented the pneumatic tire in 1845 but wasn’t applied to vehicles until 1895 by Andre Michelin. "Most tires are constructed from some form of rubber. But, “rubber tires” usually refers to tires made entirely from solid rubber. Pneumatic tires are the typical tires we are use to having on our cars and bicycles. They have a solid rubber surface, but the inside is inflated with air."
My notes: It's almost like invent the wheel before the cart! lol

It's like cigarettes were invented in the 16th century but matches weren't invented until 1827!

Crater of Diamonds State Park. This park is located in Arkansas. It contains the only diamond producing area in the US! My notes: Would you go here? Have you? Have you found diamonds or other precious gems anywhere? While it’s not the Gold Rush equivalent, it’d be fun to look around. Not looking to get rich but to get a souvenir or two.
